Licensed Work: docs.celestia.world — Centralized Documentation & Blog Hub for the celestia-island ecosystem.

Additional Use Grant: The Licensor grants the following additional rights alongside the base rights in the Terms section below. These rights are perpetual and apply immediately — they are not contingent on any future date or event. Permitted Uses (a) through (e) below are also covered by the Free Use License.

— Permitted Uses (no separate commercial license required) —

(a) Internal Operations. You may make production use of the Licensed Work for your own internal operations, regardless of organizational size or revenue.

(b) Non-Commercial Use. You may use the Licensed Work for academic research, teaching, personal study, evaluation, experimentation, and contribution to the Licensed Work itself, without restriction on organizational affiliation or funding source.

(c) Government and Public Service. Government agencies, public institutions, and non-profit organizations may deploy the Licensed Work for public-service purposes.

(d) Educational Use. Accredited educational institutions may use the Licensed Work for teaching, academic research, campus infrastructure, and student projects.

(e) Modification and Contribution. You may modify the Licensed Work and contribute such modifications to the upstream project, subject to the terms of this License.

— Uses Requiring a Commercial License —

The following activities are not permitted without a separate commercial license obtained from the Licensor:

(i) Offering the Licensed Work, in whole or in substantial part, as a hosted, managed, or cloud-based service to third parties, where the Licensed Work constitutes a substantial source of the service's value.

(ii) Selling, licensing, sublicensing, or otherwise distributing the Licensed Work, whether modified or unmodified, as a standalone product, or rebranding it under a different name or mark for commercial distribution.

(iii) Offering deployment, installation, configuration, ongoing maintenance, or technical support services for the Licensed Work to third parties for a fee, where such services constitute a recurring or primary business activity.

(iv) Including the Licensed Work, or a modified version thereof, as a core or substantial component in a product or service that you sell, license, or otherwise provide to third parties for commercial purposes.

(v) Any use where the Licensed Work constitutes the primary or substantial source of value in a commercial offering made available to third parties, regardless of the delivery mechanism or branding.

Free Use License: For any Permitted Use described in items (a) through (e) above, the rights granted are equivalent in scope to those provided under your choice of either:

— the Apache License, Version 2.0 (<https://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0>), or — the MIT License (<https://opensource.org/licenses/MIT>).

You may treat this License as the Apache License 2.0 or the MIT License for any Permitted Use. For any Restricted Use described in items (i) through (v) above, the full terms of this Business Source License 1.1 apply, and a separate commercial license is required.

Change Date: 2030-01-01

Change License: On and after the Change Date, this License automatically converts to the Synthetic Source License, Version 1.0 (SySL-1.0) (<https://github.com/celestia-island/sysl>) for all versions of the Licensed Work released under this License, for all users and for all uses, with no production-use restriction and no separate commercial license required.

Terms

The Licensor hereby grants you the right to copy, modify, create derivative works, redistribute, and make non-production use of the Licensed Work. The Licensor makes an Additional Use Grant, above, permitting limited production use as specified in that Grant.

If your use of the Licensed Work does not comply with the requirements currently in effect as described in this License, you must purchase a commercial license from the Licensor, its affiliated entities, or authorized resellers, or you must refrain from using the Licensed Work.

All copies of the original and modified Licensed Work, and derivative works of the Licensed Work, are subject to this License. This License applies separately for each version of the Licensed Work released by Licensor.

You must conspicuously display this License on each original or modified copy of the Licensed Work. If you receive the Licensed Work in original or modified form from a third party, the terms and conditions set forth in this License apply to your use of that work.

Any use of the Licensed Work in violation of this License will automatically terminate your rights under this License for the current and all other versions of the Licensed Work.

This License does not grant you any right in any trademark or logo of Licensor or its affiliates (provided that you may use a trademark or logo of Licensor as expressly required to this License).

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE LICENSED WORK IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" BASIS. LICENSOR HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING (WITHOUT LIMITATION) WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND TITLE.
